After such good luck with the weather at Kenwyn
it was inevitably going to happen that the wind and rain would arrive and provide
the team with very stern test. As it turned out the players put in a fantastic
effort to beat the highly talented and dangerous Newbury outfit. The conditions
were very difficult for an open running game but compliments to both sides for
the high skill level on show through out the game. It was important to keep our
winning streak going and the bonus point allowed us to move back into second place
and make s the visit of Bedford ever more exciting.
This week is
a short week for the team as we depart for the tough away encounter at Rotherham
on Thursday and will look to do a team session in Rotherham on Friday.
We picked up one or two knocks during the game but hopefully they should
clear up in time for Saturdays game. It was great to see the likes of Joe Bearman,Will
James and Tom Barlow come through the game unscathed and it was certainly a good
workout in those conditions!
On a final note the players and staff
would like to thank David Jenkins for all his hard work at the club especially
his input into Kenwyn and the branding of the Cornish Pirates. Best wishes and
good luck in the future David.
