Looking Forward To The New Rugby Season | | |
June 2009 | | | | | Camborne
resident Simon Hampton, who attends the 'Greenhaven' Supported Accommodation base
in the town, loves the game of rugby and thoroughly enjoys providing assistance
to the Cornish Pirates as a valued volunteer. | | | | | | | Last
season Simon attended the Recreation Ground at Camborne on the mornings of games
to help brush up the stand and clean the seating, and he also carried out duties
at other times in a willing and enthusiastic manner under the direction of Pirates
Rudi Grenfell and Colin Dymond. During the summer Simon has also offered
his services ahead of the new season, which for him and fellow supporters can't
come quick enough. Speaking on behalf of the Cornish Pirates, Media Officer
Phil Westren commented: "It is important that assistance
is given those with learning difficulties, providing individuals with interest
and fulfilment in what they can achieve. Simon, with support
also from Carol and Bill Martin at 'Greenhaven', is certainly an achiever, and
we value his input greatly."
