Mike Crump
Community Development Officer
Mike joined us in June 2006 with a cv full of playing and coaching experience from a high level. Mike started his rugby career at Exeter Saracens and moved to Exeter Chiefs at 13.
He played all age groups at county level for Devon and joined the South West England Rugby Academy at Ivybridge Community College on its first year in 2002.
After completing college with a BTEC in Sports Studies, Mike played a few years up in London and then in the Midlands before joining Pirates.
Mike joined Pirates as our Community Coach and worked with the club, local schools and clubs in promoting rugby and getting everyone involved with the game.
Three years later the Community team that has been built consists of 4 coaches including Mike.
The Community Coaches are coaching 12 Master Classes, 35 schools and 15 clubs a year and working alongside the Cornish Pirates Learning Zone in Penzance and at Camborne’s CPR building.
