| Esher V Cornish Pirates Sunday
October 13th Kick Off 3:00pm Jimmy
Moore, a replacement winger and last minute try-scoring hero against Exeter Chiefs
last weekend, has been selected at fly-half for Saturday's away game at Esher.
With Gareth Steenson unavailable because
of family commitments, the versatile Moore will partner Canadian scrum-half Ed
Fairhurst, who impressed many on his debut. Centre Nick Buckley
and young lock Scott Hobson, both able replacements against Exeter, hold on to
their places as Steve Winn and Chris Cracknell have not recovered from injuries
sustained in the match. Bruce Cumming, who moved back into the back-row
when Cracknell was injured, will keep the number six berth, and there is a recall
on the wing for Rhodri McAtee in place of the injured Ali Koko. Esher
are presently 13th in National One, their first season playing at this level after
being crowned Champions of National Two last April. Their
challenge is one that the Pirates will wisely not take lightly, the 'EEEs' a team
that will probably climb the league table as the season progresses, and one that
has already acquired five bonus points. Likely to be included in their line-up
are locks Adam Harris, a Cornishman who has joined from Newbury, and James Inglis
who played for the Pirates last term. Neil Hallett, a full-back who amassed 398
points for Esher last season, and is presently their top points scorer on 52. The
visit will mark the Pirates first to Molesey Road now known as the Pillar Data
Arena) since their first National Two away game in September, 2002, the Pirates
winning on that occasion 31-26. Cornish Pirates 15 Ollie Thomas,
