| Gesture From Piers Is Greatly Appreciated | | |
15th
May 2009 The household of Cornish Pirates player Rhodri McAtee now adorns
on one of its walls a magnificent picture which was this week presented to him
by keen supporter Piers Owen. | | | | | Rhodri
& Piers | A
retired engineer and lecturer, Piers, who has lived in Newlyn for 18 years, picked
up tips from his art teacher wife Mary to produce the work in charcoal and pastel.
Piers has tremendous admiration for the skills that Rhodri displays, as
he had similarly for former Wales and British Lions fly-half Phil Bennett who
is depicted in the picture and in his day was another magician on the rugby field.
It was with surprise and great pleasure that Rhodri accepted the gift,
commenting that "It was a most generous gesture
which is greatly appreciated - and it is of a fellow 'Barbarian'." |
