Cornish
Pirates' Tongan international Vunga Lilo has been selected in his country's squad
to compete in this year's Hong Kong Sevens, which is considered the premier tournament
of its kind in the world.
The tournament, which is part
of the IRB Sevens World Series, is being held from the 28th - 30th March. The
series started in Dubai last November and will end in Scotland this June.
Besides
Vunga, it is hoped that Cornish Pirates back-rower Chris Cracknell might also
have the opportunity to one day play for his country in the IRB Sevens.
He
has trained and impressed with the England squad this week, head coach Ben Ryan
commenting: "Chris has matured as a player over the last two years and
deserved an opportunity to train with the squad. He had a very good two days training
at our camp before we fly to Hong Kong and will be part of a wider group of players
that are on standby for the next two tournaments."
