Chairman Nicky Brooks thanked all the sponsors for their continued support
of the whole section, with special thanks given Penwith District Council for awarding
a grant to provide training equipment.

Make Final at Newbury Festival
Having recently won the Cornish
County Championships the U11s made it to the final of the Newbury Festival.
Being
a national event this gave the young talented team the invaluable experience of
playing other well-trained sides from further a field. Report

U15s are runners-up in Tens
competition
Playing at Bodmin on Sunday 23rd April, the Pirates beat the
hosts 34-0 in their opener, Camborne were beaten next, 26-7
Progressing
to a semi-final against Wadebridge Camels, Charlie Goldsworthy scored the fastest
try of the tournament in about six seconds! before we then lost disappointingly
36-0 to favourites Redruth. Full

Under
13s 33-7 victors at St Austell on Sunday 9th April
Having beaten Launceston,
Newquay and Penryn in previous rounds of the U13s County Cup competition, the
strong young Pirates side won 33 - 7 against Truro in the final at St. Austell
Billed as favourites having already beaten Truro twice this season &
coached by Nicky Brooks, Ian Robinson, Dave Elliott and Peter Lugg, it was a bruising
match, played with determination, high skill level and excellent sportsmanship
from both sides.  |

Pirates U9s Share The Plate
Trophy
The Pirates U9s shared the Plate Trophy with Saltash after a hard-fought
final in the Cornwall U9s Rugby Festival played at Newquay on Sunday, both teams
scoring two tries a-piece.
