Team
Building Day
The Cornish Pirates will partake in a team building day at
the privately owned Lusty Glaze Beach, Newquay, next Wednesday 2nd. August at
10a.m. The players will also use the adventure centre - managed by Cornwall
College - to undertake such daunting tasks such as 'rat' and 'zip wire' runs With
the hard work and a day of challenges over, they will then be able to relax at
a BBQ from 4- 6p.m., along with invited sponsors and media personnel.
Henley Sevens Update
The Cornish Pirates were delighted to lift the prestigious
Henley International Sevens trophy last year. If anything, the Pirates
could have at their disposal an even stronger squad than they had last season
It is possible that Jonny Hylton, who recently signed from Worcester and has played
for England Sevens, could join McAtee and other quality performers up for selection. Sevens

Twickers Groundsman
Colin Dymond and Phil Westren were delighted to welcome Keith Kent , the head groundsman at Twickenham, to Camborne recently.
For a man who previously worked at Old Trafford for 15 years, it was an opportunity for him to impart much of his advice and knowledge for the Pirates to act upon, which we are doing accordingly.
During recent days the field has been weed sprayed, top dressed (50 tons of sand), verti-drained and seeded (15 bags at a cost of £83 per bag!), with fertilising to follow.
We would have preferred, of course, to have started such work right at the beginning of May, but this was obviously not possible.
However, with advice taken from the top we are hopeful that by September the Recreation Ground will look better than it has done for many a year.

Support Sports Relief
The Cornish Pirates will be joining many thousands of runners around the country by supporting Sports Relief Day on the 15th. July.
Participating in Sport Relief Mile runs in both Camborne and Penzance will be members of the playing squad, plus Simon Raynes (Strength & Conditioning Coach) and Adrian Edwards (Team Manager).
The event at Camborne is being held around the Cornwall College campus with a 10a.m. start, whilst at Penzance theyll be striding out just a little bit earlier at 9.30a.m. on a straight and scenic course from the Tolcarne Inn, Newlyn, to the Jubilee Bathing Pool.
Sports Relief raised a staggering £14.4m on its debut in 2002, with every penny going to help tackle poverty and disadvantage in the UK and across the world,
There is now every hope that with improved organisation and support an even greater amount will be raised this time around.
