All the players had fun in an exciting game of tag rugby which ended with Newquay the victors.

30/4/06 – Pirates 4 Newquay 2

This was a fantastic end of season win for our side, beating the previously unbeaten Hornets.

It was a proud occasion for coaches Ozzy and Rob, witnessing the team at their best & using to good benefit, all the techniques learnt this season.

16/4/06 – St. Austell Rugby Festival

Playing in the annual festival fun day at Tregorrick Parc, our U8s lost to Truro, Saltash and Newquay, despite playing well.

However, all the hard work and effort was rewarded with a win against the host club, with thanks expressed to them, the coaches and helpers, and all who supported the enjoyable rugby day.

12/3/06 - Pirates U7s 4 - Helston U7s 4

Well done to both sides for playing some excellent rugby, with Savey playing especially well for us. Our try-scorers were Joel (2), Daniel, Savey.

12/3/06 - Pirates U8s 6 - Helston U8s 1

This was another good game despite the poor weather conditions at the Mennaye Field. Jack was our 'Man-of-the-Match', with our try-scorers being Rory, Charlie, Nick, and Joel.

5/3/06 - Wadebridge U7s 4 - Pirates U7s 6

All players enjoyed themselves in a fairly even contest, with our commitment away from home giving us the win. Try-scorers were Rory (2), Henry, Tyler, Andrew and Dan.

5/3/06 - Wadebridge U8s 5 - Pirates U8s 7

This was another close match which we just about deserved to win, there being plenty of excitement and enthusiasm on display. Tries were scored by Andrew (3), Rory (2), Nick and Tyler.

12/2/06 - Tag Rugby Exhibition at Kenwyn
The Pirates U7s and U8s teams were invited to Kenwyn to take part in a 'tag' rugby exhibition, the event being a curtain-raiser before the Pirates' National 1 encounter against Bedford Blues. All the children were extremely excited about this opportunity, and this reflected in the standard of play in their games against Lankelly-Fowey, St. Austell and Helston.

The U7s played Helston only, with all team members contributing to a very high standard of rugby. The final score was 7-5 to the Pirates.

Players taking part were Joel Bick, Daniel Rhys Evans, Connor Rushton, Sabian Friggens, Daniel Butterfield, Abe King, Harold Ault, Bill Thomas, Elliot Tree and Henry Nowell.

The U8s played two games, the first against St. Austell being very exciting. The Pirates won 8-3, but then lost to a good Lankelly-Fowey

team. Pirates - Rory Osborne, Charlie Williams, Nick Nowell, Andrew James, Joel May, Robbie Scrambler, Jack Williams, Ellie Angove, Anthony Barrett, Tyler Tresidder, Callum Lee, Ollie Rodger and Harry Roddy.

The young Pirates had a fantastic day, and would like to thank their senior side for inviting them. Thanks also to NFU for sponsoring their bus, to Penwithian Wholesalers for providing refreshments, and to Sally Westren and Sally Emery for making up over 70 food bags which were kindly issued out by Cornish Pirates players.

5/2/06 - PIRATES U7s 5 - WADEBRIDGE 5

Joel was 'man of the match' in this great game of tag rugby. He scored three tries, whilst Daniel, Reece and Conor were also in fine form.

5/2/06 - PIRATES U8s 7 WADEBRIDGE 5

Another good win, with our tries scored by Nick (3), Charlie, Rory, Roby and Andrew.

29/1/06 - PIRATES U7s 6 - PENRYN 5

Another great win for the U7s team, them showing good teamwork. Try-scorers were Joel, Dan and Reece.

29/1/06 - PIRATES U8s 14 - PENRYN 14

The Pirates had to work hard against a side that they had beaten earlier in the season, a draw being a fair result. Try-scorers were Rory, Nick and Charlie - the whole team showing great determination throughout.

22/1/06 - FALMOUTH 5 - PIRATES 6

The home side proved to be tough opposition, but after a slow start Rory scored the first of a number of tries he scored the match. Well played everyone, but with a special mention to Ellie who played a fantastic game.
