Stithians 17 Pirates Amateurs 18
7th March, 2009
This was a sound Merit Table win for the Amateurs against a useful Stithians side that suffered a rare home defeat.
The hosts were 10-8 up at half-time, and looked to be the likely winners when they led 17-13 in the final quarter. However, it was a try two minutes from full-time by Pirates' full-back Rob Cotter that proved decisive.
Playing his last game for the Pirates this season was centre Aaron Hall, who is about to leave Cornwall on a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. Before his departure thanks and best wishes were expressed to Aaron from his playing colleagues and all Pirates.
