Pirates Colts 72 Bude Colts 12
Saturday 20th December, 2008
After a three week break, the Pirates Colts got back to winning ways with a thumping 72-12 points Cornwall KO Cup match victory against Bude Colts.
In cold and blustery conditions, the Pirates Colts entertained a small crowd by playing some thrilling rugby on the Mennaye Nurseries field, their win easing them from the group and into the knock-out stages of the competition
The Pirates scored a total of 12 tries in the match, but the biggest cheer went to Johnny Stevens who guested for and also scored a try for Bude! Although well beaten, credit was due the visitors who showed great spirit throughout, and were rewarded with a penalty try in the final minute.
Coaches Paul Quayle, Treve Stirling and Scott Dugdale said the squad have trained and played well in the first half of the season, and if they show the same enthusiasm and commitment for the second half, then it should be a great year.
