Pirates U9s At Hayle Festival

The Pirates U9s took part in a two day festival hosted by Hayle RFC on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday they played five matches against Camborne, Truro, Hayle, Redruth and a touring team from Taunton. They won against Hayle but lost the other games and were only a try or two away from their opponents in each game. Pirate try scorers for Saturday were Luke Flack, Jamie Thomas, Matthew Ellis, Conner George, Daniel Rhys Evans and Henry Trow. The points awarded meant that they went on to play in the 'Plate' competition on the Sunday.

In the Plate competition the Pirates U9s won against Hayle and lost against Truro. Try-scorers on Sunday were Jamie Thomas, Tom Tieken, Luke Flack and Daniel Rhys Evans.

All the players were awarded a medal and certificate at the end of a long weekend for all those involved. Thanks goes to all the parents who came and supported the team and to Steve Friggens and Pete Williams who give their time to coach the boys every Friday night and travel with them to all the fixtures. Thanks also to Steve who refereed some of the matches.

Any players from the Pirates U9s that have club trophies from the end of last season are asked to please return them to Amanda Prosser at training on Friday.
