Pirates
Youth Rugby Scalextric Challenge
Saturday February 14th 2009
11:00 to 5:00
In the words of Murray Walker "
and they're
off!"
Well
not quite, but it's now only days to the Pirates Youth Rugby Scalextric Challenge,
this Saturday February 14th. From 11:00 to 5:00 the Pirates are holding this fund
raising initiative for youth rugby in the clubhouse. Wendy
Nicholas, Chair of Youth Rugby said "It's just gone crazy in our house! My
husband has got his F1 McLaren out of the loft and is now muttering about 'oiling
his diff' and 'hope the old trigger finger's still got it'. We're
hoping many of those Xbox, PS2, Nintendo and Wii addicts might get down to the
club for a true test of racing skill against some of their, let's say, more mature
opponents. Competitors will pay a small entry fee to set
a time over a given number of laps. There are prizes in
various age groups to cater for all abilities, or to prevent the younger members
embarrassing the older members, perhaps! Whirlwind Sports
and Rugby Tackle have each donated gift vouchers to use on their merchandise and
there will be refreshments and other activities for those waiting their turn." |
