Cornish Youngsters Represent South West U16s

2nd-3rd April,2009

Four young Cornish rugby players last week represented the South West of England as part of the U16s squad playing at Bryanston School, Dorset.

On Thursday, Chris Nicholas, Charlie Tokeley (both Pirates U16s), Tom Pascoe and Ollie Seagrove (Truro U16s and U15s respectively) represented the SW division against the USA U17s, when they were narrowly beaten 22-13 by the superior physicality of the national side, who had spent the previous 5 days at the school in preparation for the match.

This USA team are reputed to be one of the finest sides to date to represent their country in this age group and therefore much credit is due to the younger SW team for remaining in strong contention to the end.

The following day the four Cornish boys, with Chris leading the side, played starring roles in their team's 31-17 victory over Dorset & Wilts U17s, demonstrating great fighting spirit to pull away from a close half-time scoreline.
