Friday
27th March 4.30 - 6pm
Westholme Clubhouse Pirates Youth Rugby
holds its second Open Evening on Friday March 27th, from 4:30 - 6:00, in the clubhouse.
This is a chance to come along and meet the volunteer coaches, referees
and support team that make it all happen. Julie Sims, a parent of an Under
8 said "I was approached to become
a volunteer in September 2008 and subsequently became Social Secretary for Youth
Rugby. Since becoming a volunteer, I have helped to organise the Christmas party
and the Scalextric Challenge. This is my son's second
year of playing rugby with the Pirates and it wasn't until I became a volunteer
I realised how much hard work, time and effort is involved with the Club. We
all see the coaches with the teams at training and at matches and appreciate their
outstanding dedication and commitment to the Club. However,
behind the scenes is a team continuously providing help and support, from arranging
fixtures, administering funds and membership, ordering equipment & kit, just
to mention a few, right through to helping out in the tea hut and catering after
matches. Without these helpers, there would be no
Youth Rugby and I am glad to be able to do a small part to assist the Club and
get the pleasure in seeing so many boys and girls enjoying Youth Rugby."
