Talan Daniels, who plays for the Pirates Colts, has recently returned from South Africa where he and his dad Mike, alias 'Dan', watched all the games.

It was a wonderful experience where many friendships were forged, meeting up with a number of fellow Cornishmen, plus family members of British Lions players Jamie Roberts and David Wallace.
Talan and Norman Roberts (Jamie's father) became particularly good friends, and David Wallace's parents Mike and Greta ended up the tour referring to Talan as their 'surrogate son'!
One of many highlights was a personal tour of Newlands Stadium where they were allowed to hold the actual Rugby World Cup trophy, the Webb Ellis Cup, a day when Dan proudly wore his Cornwall rugby shirt.
They also met tour captain Paul O'Connell, fellow Cornishman Phil Vickery, plus former 'Lions' Jason Robinson and Dewi Morris. |

Along with other supporters from Cornwall, including among them Barry Frost from Perranporth, Talan and Dan also flew the St. Piran's flag at every opportunity, as was spotted more than once by viewers watching the games on Sky TV.
