The Pirates Colts recently held their well attended annual awards evening at the Pirates 'Westholme' clubhouse.

It came at end of a succesful season when eight of their number played for Cornwall, two represented the South West Academy, and two more gained international honours – Luke Cowan-Dickie for England U18s and Jack Nowell for England U17s,

Penzance & Newlyn RFC's President, Robin Turner, presented the club's 'Monckton Cup for Achievement' to Luke Cowan-Dickie, the second year running he has won the award.

Luke had played for England U16s in 2008-09, and he followed this up by being capped during this past season for the England U18s side.

Nicky Brooks, who coached the Pirates Colts, presented the general awards:
