Roger Pascoe

Born in Penzance and educated at Lescudjack C.S. School, Roger excelled in sport and he captained the rugby, cricket and soccer teams.

He later played for our Mounts Bay Colts side from where he gained promotion straight into the first team, making his debut back in 1961 for the ‘Etceteras’.

His shrewd rugby brain, aligned to cat-like hands plus excellent running and kicking skills, enabled him to perform consistently well and bewilder some of the very best.

A member of our successful CRFU ‘7s’ winning team in 1964, ‘Paco’ later won six Cornish caps and had the prestigious honour of captaining the Pirates both in 1966/67 and 1971/72.

Roger Pascoe

An influential member of our 1976 Cornwall K.O. Cup winning side, his fitness and level of commitment enabled him to reach the 1000 games milestone against a star-studded President’s XV in 1986.

This was a phenomenal achievement by a very special sportsman who had also been a successful cricketer.

Roger passed away suddenly in 2002, aged just 58 years.
