Camborne 2nds 41 Pirates Amateurs 0
19th Dec 2009
The fact that Camborne are doing so well this season at first team level had a likely bearing on this Merit Table match result, as the involvement of second team players training in the 'Cherry & Whites' senior squad has no doubt rubbed off.
To their credit the Pirates Amateurs never lacked for effort and admirably held their hosts to a 5-0 scoreline at the break.
However, come the second half the well-drilled and more experienced Camborne team made their overall domination count.
Back-rower George Pye did much good work for the Amateurs, and a late surge led by lock Matt Nicholas raised hopes that the side would get some points on the board, but it was not to be.
The home team's defence never faltered, with an evergreen Kevin Penrose setting the example throughout.
