Pirates Amateurs RFC 0 Camborne Reserves 15

In wet and muddy conditions at the Mennaye Field, the Pirates Amateurs would have lost more heavily but for a display of grit and determination shown throughout.

At the start of the game heavy rain threatened to ruin this match as a spectacle, but the teams were up for giving their all, and they did.

Camborne deserved the 8-0 half-time lead and also put their opponents under immense pressure throughout the second half, when the Amateurs were called upon to valiantly defend the Newlyn half of the ground.

Time and again they managed to prevent Camborne from scoring because of a brave defensive effort, only for the 'Cherry & Whites' to conjure up a converted score and extend their lead in the very last seconds of what was a surprisingly entertaining contest.
