The platform for this fine Merit Table win was set in the first half at the Mennaye Field, when the Amateurs scored four unconverted tries playing against the wind.

Hooker Ryan Stanley was in fine form, crossing for two of the tries as the pack played it tight to gain overall dominance. Lock Tom Edwards and No. 8 Tom Ball made some telling carries, and when the ball was moved wide Ryan Edwards impressed on the wing.

The second half was a much closer fought affair, as the Amateurs were restricted to just the one try scored by centre Josh Oliver which was converted by fly-half Andrew Snell.
