Arriving at Sennen for a pre-season camping / training week on the back of a
match V Russia the Ospreys and members of Penzance & Newlyn RFC youth and other
keen rugby fans from met up for a barbecue and relaxed 'meet the players
night'
Having enjoyed a great spread supplied by Bev & Dan Lugg with help from all
the staff at Trevedra Farm Campsite autographs & shirts were busily being
signed.
Thomas Prosser asked how many of the players had enjoyed a Cornish Pasty -
Mefin Davies had to admit, with the nutrition guys there, that it had been
two years.
Another young supporter asked former Pirate, Joe Bearman what was the worst
bit about training.
The coaching staff were asked how they have managed to get the best looking
front row, an amused Duncan Jones stated that he had been called many
things - not repeatable - but never handsome
The players and coaches mingled and chatted giving potential players,
physios, and coaches advice and an insight into the various routes they had
taken to achieve their goals
At the time of writing we are still waiting to hear if Scott Johnson managed
to walk the coast path from Gwynver Beach to Penzance in 5 hours!
It was an enjoyable evening and we would like to sincerely thank all the
Ospreys players & staff for giving up their time and hope they enjoy the
rest of the week especially the gig rowing.
