Geoff Stewarding At Camborne For The Pirates

July 2008

It was with sadness that news was received this week that loyal 'Pirate' Geoff Cock had suddenly passed away.

A gifted sportsman in his youth, Geoff was a talented wing-forward who played for Mounts Bay Colts (as the Pirates Colts were at one time called) in the early-mid 1960s.

Indeed, in 1964 he was a member of our Colts 7-a-side team that won the County Sevens, playing alongside Chris Walsh, Mike Burt, Charlie Paull, Joe McLellan, Paul Greaves, and skipper Stuart Michell.

Geoff was a Mini-Juniors coach at the Pirates for a lengthy spell, when his son Matthew played for the section, and he has also been a conscientious and very able Steward on match days.

Such a fine man will be truly missed, and our sincere condolences are expressed to his family.
