What made Jimmy Moore such a valuable acquisition was that he could play anywhere behind the scrum with considerable skill.

He was also very quick, elusive and a very fine goal kicker.

Perhaps this versatility worked to his disadvantage at times as he was frequently used as impact cover for several positions rather than securing a regular place in his own right.

Brought up in the Northwest, Jimmy played his early rugby with Sale where he got some Premiership experience and then starred for Coventry where he was the top scorer in the entire championship in 2005-06.

He was therefore an exciting capture when joining the Pirates the following summer when they first moved to Camborne.

If one golden moment stands out above all others it has to be his ice cold  drop goal at Doncaster to win the EDF quarter final in injury time.

He scored a host of tries and became a favourite with supporters who were sorry to see him leave for Fylde after four happy years in Cornwall.
